'Dram' - a new generation of Celtic Music...

After auditions were held at Irish Murphy's on Oct 4, the Paddy O'Neill Young Celtic Award group for 2009 was selected and put through their paces individually and as a group.

All are multi skilled on various instruments, sing and have the ability to compose original material. The group consists of: Hilary Glaisher - Fiddle, guitar, vocals Bridgid Glaisher - Flute, whistle  Jenny McKechnie -  Vocals, Guitar   Anita Hillman - Cello, Bass, vocals, guitar Corey Henderson - Uilleann Pipes, whistles, bodhran.

Dram is the 3rd Port Fairy Folk Festival sponsored group following in the footsteps of Beltane 07 and Rant 08, they will attend the Lake School of Celtic Music in January2009 for tuition to build a repertoire, stagecraft and recorda cd, in preparation for concert and festival performancesunder the guidance of tutors Ade Kelly and Geoff McArthur.

Keep an eye out for this group in 2009........they'll be hot!
