The Funky String Band in Barwon Heads ~ a review by Paula

What a great night at Barwon Heads Bowl Club. The variety of material and musicianship made it one of the most enjoyable evenings I have had for some time!

Several highlights, Peter Daffy yodeling, was right up there!

The Barwon Heads impromptu children’s choir joining in the chorus of Everything I do is gonna be funky was the ultimate in audience participation.

Peter’s vocals from Stardust ( my favourite) to That’s Alright Mama kept the enthusiastic audience entertained all night.

Tunes from Tasmanian Luke Plumb and Scott Angus Grant were tight. Harmonies were great. Keyboard from Jamie Jauncey, unbelievable!

Hopefully they will be back soon, I know I will be there to catch them again.

The Funky String Band comprises Tasmanian Luke Plumb, Victorian Peter Daffy and Scotland’s Angus Grant and Jamie Jauncey.

LET’S HAVE A RAIN DANCE…
Many people are suffering from the prolonged drought Australia is experiencing at the moment. In 2006-07 many fodder crops failed and people on the land had to sell stock at little or no profit, buy in expensive feed and water to keep remaining stock alive, and now as we move toward spring the prospects of continued drought remain.
