The Funky String Band in Barwon Heads ~ a review by Paula
What a great night at Barwon Heads Bowl Club. The variety of material and musicianship made it one of the most enjoyable evenings I have had for some time!
Several highlights, Peter Daffy yodeling, was right up there!
The Barwon Heads impromptu children’s choir joining in the chorus of Everything I do is gonna be funky was the ultimate in audience participation.
Peter’s vocals from Stardust ( my favourite) to That’s Alright Mama kept the enthusiastic audience entertained all night.
Tunes from Tasmanian Luke Plumb and Scott Angus Grant were tight. Harmonies were great. Keyboard from Jamie Jauncey, unbelievable!
Hopefully they will be back soon, I know I will be there to catch them again.
The Funky String Band comprises Tasmanian Luke Plumb, Victorian Peter Daffy and Scotland’s Angus Grant and Jamie Jauncey.

Sounds of the NSW Central Coast!
Just back from their first European tour, Nick Everitt & Liesl Karlsson have been playing shows all over the place. We're very happy to have Nick & Liesl performing at the December Live & Local so make sure you don't miss their Geelong show.
Nick Everitt is a bushman from the Central Coast of New South Wales Australia, Liesl Karlsson is a well-travelled Aussie-Swede recently returned to Australia. Being both singer/songwriters and already involved in more ways than one, teaming up as a duo was as natural as singing in the shower.
With influences ranging from Nick’s love of James Taylor and Cat Stevens to Liesl’s classical songbooks, this multi-instrumental duo present their own uniquely flavoured blend of acoustic, folk and roots. Combining invigorating harmonies with guitar, piano, percussion and a naturally large and varied repertoire, their performance is never predictable and always splendid.
See Nick & Liesl at the December Live & Local!!!
Annie McGlade
Annie McGlade is a musician with an eclectic style that blends modern acoustic music with its roots in blues, country, jazz and folk. A consummate performer who believes that playing and singing are only part of the story. Annie has a stage presence that commands attention and provides a well rounded, entertaining performance that leaves audience keen for more. She is as at home singing traditional music as she is in a full rock lineup. Although mainly an interpretive artist, Annie does on occasion perform her own work.
Annie will be appearing at the December Live & Local for the GFMC on the 19th at Irish Murphy's Geelong. Read more »»
