One of the things I love about going to Open-Mic nights at the folk club, is that I never cease to be amazed at the variety and strength of talent that comes along to participate. Geelong seems to produce an well of musical and entertainment talent that, at times, appears bottomless. October Live & Local shaping up!

Coming up in October we have a real treat, local bluegrass group ‘Ad Hoc’ as well as Melbourne duo 'Kevin Parsell & Maureen Beggs'.

Kevin and Maureen draw on a wide variety of folk styles and tunes from around the world. Joining Kevin and Maureen later in the evening will be banjo virtuoso Jim Golding. Jim is probably better known as a member of the highly entertaining ‘Coolgrass’ and is a wonderful exponent of all things banjo. Read more »»

A wild weekend of weather and music at Roses Gap!

Just back from another fantastic weekend away up at Roses Gap Folk Music Camp in The Grampians in north west Victoria.

She was a wild old weekend and all those camping were doin' it tough! But, as usual, through the rain, the cold and the wind comes a feeling of musical community that is so rare these days!
