In 2006-07 many fodder crops failed and people on the land had to sell stock at little or no profit, buy in expensive feed and water to keep remaining stock alive, and now as we move toward spring the prospects of continued drought remain. "Not The Wolf is Paul Monk and Matiss Schubert together playing fiddle, mandolin, guitars, trumpet and singing songs.

Back in 1992, the boys began their musical apprenticeships with legendary old-man bush band, Full Circle, and then went on to help form the contemporary Celtic Punk/Country/Rumba band, The Mongolian Fishmongers. Read more »»

Laura Baxter set to sizzle next "Live & Local"!

Inspired by the great Motown artists of the 1960's, Laura Baxter's got soul!

With that said, it was Baxter's performance with Geelong Motown Girlgroup Sweethearts at the Porretta Soul Festival in Italy this year, that caught the attention of original Stax artists Toni Green and the 'Queen of Soul' Betty Harris. Harris was so inspired she invited the girls to support her on her next Australian tour! High praise indeed! Read more »»

2008 Paddy O'Neill Award is Open!

The Paddy O'Neill Award was first held by the Lake School of Celtic Music in January 2007, and resulted in the creation of the amazing young celtic band Beltane.

After working for a week in January in Koroit under the guidance of tutors Ade Kelly and Geoff McArthur, Beltane went on to record a demo CD "The First Summer" and to perform at the Port Fairy Folk Festival, the Koroit Irish Festival and the National Celtic Festival in Portarlington. Their photo is featured on the 2008 Lake School flyer/application form. Read more »»

At this stage Turramurra still sells its tickets by post so we need a postal address to send you the brochure and the program in early October. You then simply fill in the form and post it back to us with your payment. Easy!
